 FOR PRINT CONTACT ME

This is by far the longest photo project I have done. It is taken from the 4th floor on my balcony down on a bench and the tree I have in front of my balcony (I have other pictures of that tree and its inhabitants in my gallery) during one year.

It starts from autumn 2009 to summer 2010. It's the seasonal journy of my first year in this new apartment.

The individual pieces:

You've picked a great angle to take the four seasons photographs from. It's an age-old theme, but this might be the best interpretation of it I've seen yet. The only major qualm I have about it is that the differently angled winter picture makes the whole thing a touch unbalanced. It's not even that noticeable at first, and the slight variation in the other pictures is fine, since the composition mostly builds on the branches of the tree and not the bench. But in the winter picture, where there are no leaves, the bench draws more attention and the difference to other pictures becomes more obvious.

The thing I do like about the different angle of the winter picture is that the branches and the edge of the bushes in the background almost seem to continue seamlessly from the autumn picture. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but building even more on that could've made the whole of the pictures even greater. There's some of the same in the autumn and spring pictures too.

Either way, awesome work with the four seasons theme. Technically, the individual photographs are obviously quite flawless. They're well focused, and the natural colors fit perfectly together as a whole. The subject matter is a good blend of nature and constructed environment, and commendably appreciates detail, with the cycle of nature in appropriate focus.

I LOVE this! Each photo on it's own is very beautiful, but when you pull them all together like this, the impact is so much greater.

You captured each season at a perfect peek it seems, which is fantastic. They look well delved into each time frame and match the expectations of each season perfectly.

The only thing that really stood out to me (and I'm pretty sure this is ONLY because I'm a bit weird about placements) is the park bench seems to move in the seasons.

Also, in winter, I wish in a way there some snowflakes or something on the branch.

Other than those two things, this is utterly fantastic. I love seasons, I hate picking one, this piece brings everything together so I can have it all in one visual eye candy. AMAZING work

on a side note, I've always wanted to do something like this but really lack the patience (or memory) to do so, so I also congratulate and admire your persistence!

They're not exactly the same though if you really look, I went more with the overall look and how the branches were so the bench is moving around a little :giggle:

What a refreshing take on an old trope. Very good choice of lighting conditions for each of your shots: you've managed to give them a unity of feeling that’s generally very difficult to achieve with this type of seasonal exploration (or maybe that’s just me).

Waiting a whole year does sound like a long time for one project. But it's one of those things that's worth the while since you only need to look at this and know it would have taken that long at least :D

All are nice, though I really like the Autumn one the most :)
